Hofstra University เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนที่ตั้งอยู่ในเขต Hempstead รัฐ New York แต่เดิมแล้วเป็นสถาบันการศึกษาในเครือ New York University ซึ่งมาเปิดสอนที่นี่โดยใช้ชื่อว่า Nassau College – Hofstra Memorial of New York University ในปี 1935 ก่อนจะแยกตัวเป็นอิสระในเวลาต่อมา
ระบบการสอนของที่นี่แบ่งเป็น 11 school ซึ่งที่โดดเด่นจะเป็น Maurice A. Hofstra University ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่กว่า 240 เอเคอร์อยู่ที่เขต Long Island ซึ่งใช้เวลาเดินทางไปยัง New York City ใน 40 นาทีโดยรถยนต์ สนามบินที่ใกล้มหาวิทยาลัยที่สุดคือสนามบิน John F. Student Accommodations
- The Netherlands เป็นกลุ่มอาคาร 2 ชั้น 11 หลัง แต่ละหลังมีห้องพัก ห้องน้ำ และห้องส่วนกลางในตัว หอพักนี้จะรองรับนักเรียนในชั้นปีแรก
- Stuyvesant Hall เป็นอีกหอพักหนึ่งที่รองรับเฉพาะนักเรียนชั้นปีแรก ตัวอาคารจะอยู่ใกล้กับลานจอดรถของ Student Center
- The High Rises ตั้งอยู่ใกล้กับ Student Center หอพักนี้จะมีโรงอาหาร ห้องอ่านหนังสือ และเป็นที่ตั้งของศูนย์บริการให้คำปรึกษานักเรียนด้วย
- Graduate Residence Hall อาคาร 5 ชั้น สำหรับนักเรียน Postgraduate ของ Deane School of Law และ Zucker School of Medicine
